That’s how this development is. We took a machine out to Agritechnica, and I haven’t even written an article about it on the website yet. But it’s an exciting piece! We could even call it the BUSA regenerative farming starter kit – kind of like a Swiss Army knife, painted yellow.
The simple yet versatile structure can be mounted at the front or rear, pushed or pulled, and its wheels make adjustment easier. The machine is equipped with 2×6 BUSA™ Rotors.
The magic begins with the rollers positioned above the rotor mount: once the rotor is loosened, they can be moved effortlessly.
This way, the machine can be used in multiple operating modes:
- As a surface cultivator – much like a GYMF Classic – it can be used for termination, shallow tillage, or seedbed preparation.
- As a strip‑tiller – if two rotor pairs are removed, we get another Grötill variant. When the rotors are arranged one behind the other, they form a strip‑tiller, strip‑cleaner, and strip‑refresher: cultivating exactly where the seeds will be sown.
- As an inter‑row cultivator – by positioning the rotors alongside the seed rows, we can hoe close to the plants regardless of the amount of mulch.
- As a ridge‑former – by hoeing alongside the seed rows, we can draw ridges from the crop residues, effectively creating a kind of warm bed before the season begins.
- In strip‑cleaning mode – in autumn it replaces the shredding roller and grinds crop residues, whether sunflower or corn.
Of course, there’s no machine that does everything without compromise. Ideally, we would prefer cultivating on parallel carriages for better ground following, but at 3 meters and 4 rows this is still an acceptable trade‑off. After all, getting both a strip‑tiller and an inter‑row cultivator for the price of a seedbed preparer – that’s not a bad deal at all
