Discover the BUSA™ Finishers

Hungary’s climate makes it essential to preserve soil moisture, so except for a few exceptions, we always close the soil surface. The tools for this are the finishers, of which BUSA™ has many variations in its product range.

Advantages of the BUSA™ Finishers

01
01

Wide range of use

Our spiral rollers are excellent alternatives to ring rollers without their difficulties. Due to their open profile, they do not dig into the soil, and their spiral design prevents slippage, making them suitable for rolling after germination.

02
02

Easy portability

They can be easily and safely transported with their upward folding frame.

03
03

Convertible base frame

The simple hitched machine can be converted into a semi-trailed one with wheels or can be trailed after a disc harrow when equipped with a long drawbar.

A key tool

The task of the finishers is to compact and close the soil surface. The soil surface, which is freshly cultivated, loose, and contains large gaps, is quickly dried by air movements. To prevent this, the surface must be compacted.

Another task of the finishers is clod breaking, which is achieved by pressing on larger rocks. Clod breaking refines the surface structure. Clod breaking refines the surface structure.

BUSA™ FINISHER MACHINES

History of the product family

What exactly is a Finisher?

The origin of spiral rollers at BUSA™ dates back to the 90s when we started producing rollers from square section steel bars as an alternative to ring rollers. These achieved soil pressure mostly from their own weight, but this also put a lot of strain on the machines during transportation. Therefore, the wedge-profile spiral roller, which is spring-loaded, was born.

One frame, three connection types

Mounted / Semi-mounted

We have separated finisher caddy machines. Typically mounted, but semi-mounted versions are also possible. The main frame is the same, so the simple hitched base machine can be converted to a trailed, semi-hitched version with wheels and with a long drawbar.

Caddy

The caddy version can be connected after a disc or other existing machine without significant modification. All three frame types are available, depending on the requirements, with a small or large roller. All three frame types are available, depending on the requirements, with a small or large roller.

BUSA™ FINISHER MACHINES

Rollers developed and manufactured by BUSA™

Spiral roller

A heavy roller for soil compaction, an alternative to the Angle profile roller. Typically used for stubble breaking and closing furrows. Its open structure makes it less prone to clogging and creating ridges.

Large spiral angle profile roller

Angle profile large-diameter spiral roller. Its structure is similar to the smaller version, but its larger diameter allows it to handle rougher surfaces and offers better clod-breaking capabilities due to the increased load.

Frequently asked questions

What bearings are the BUSA™ Rollers equipped with?

Our rollers are equipped with IH system bearings in all cases.

We have a mounted BUSA™ Finisher with spiral roller. Could you convert it to semi-mounted?

The main frame of all three machine types is the same, so there is no need to modify the current machine. The simple mounted base machine can be converted to semi-mounted with wheels.

Can you use BUSA™ Rollers after germination?

Due to the open structure of the rollers, they do not dig into the soil, and their spiral design prevents slippage, making them ideal for rolling after germination.

What is the frequency of clogging in BUSA™ Spiral roller finishers?

Thanks to the open structure of the spiral roller, it does not clog and does not block the soil in front of it.

Where can I buy the rubber elements for the BUSA™ Rubber roller, and which manufacturer’s product should I choose?

The rubber elements of the BUSA™ Rubber roller are unique, proprietary products (patented), so they can only be ordered from BUSA™.

What do you recommend instead of a slated roller for our seedbed maker? These rollers always get clogged in early spring, wetter soils.

The BUSA™ product range includes a patented slated roller equipped with an internal mud scraper. So there is no need to give up the slated roller.

I have a BUSA™ Heavy disc harrow equipped with an wedge spiral roller, but I would like to have harrow tines on it. How much would it cost to convert the machine?

We try to design our rollers to have the same mounting, so one machine can use several different types of rollers with a small extra cost.

Do you have any solutions to reduce the frequency of replacing the rollers?

You can also request rollers made of high wear-resistant steel (RAEX). Their lifespan is several times longer than that of traditional rollers, which can be a worthwhile alternative for large farms where maintenance time is critical.

You can always count on us!
