Discs

We use Belota manufactured discs on our disc harrows, except for the 485 mm size, as the depth of discs available in the market, in this size proved insufficient for the required working quality. Therefore, we manufacture this size ourselves.

BUSA™ TRAILED DISC HARROWS

History of the product family

What exactly is a Trailed Disc Harrow?

The applications of disc harrows within soil cultivation systems are versatile. They can be used for primary tillage, stubble stripping, incorporating pesticides, organic and mineral fertilizers, secondary tillage after plowing, and seedbed preparation.

We offer our implements in four different frame classes (light, medium, heavy, super heavy) with customizable disc size, spacing, and working width. The light disc harrows can be adjusted to work in orchards and vineyards by moving them to the side.

Each version is equipped with a level controller, which ensures simple adjustment of straight running and even work depth. The level controller of heavy-weight trailed disc harrows features a spring to prevent over-load. Super-heavy implements feature hydraulic leveling.

Work depth can be set by adjusting the angle of the disc arms or by means of the wheels.

In the standard configuration, our disc harrows are equipped with IH system ST bearings, and tapered roller bearings can be optionally ordered.

Finishers are also available to supplement each version, which allows for finishing the soil in one session helping to reduce moisture loss.

There are two ways to attach a finishing roller to our Disc Harrows. The rollers can be fitted with springs directly on the implement or with a traction link, separately as an independent implement. To close the soil and maintain moisture, our implements can be equipped with spiral angle profile roller spiral angle profile roller, for seedbed preparation, you can choose slated roller or their mud-scraped version.

BUSA™ TRAILED DISC HARROWS

Frame structure categories

What kind of work do we recommend for?

BUSA™ Kontrol L

The small-sized, disc harrows equipped with small-diameter and closely spaced working elements are suitable for seedbed preparation and can be used for primary tillage (plowing) cultivation on easily workable soils.

Key features

Laterally adjustable

The light disc harrows can be adjusted to work in orchards and vineyards by moving them to the side.

BUSA™ Discs

We manufacture our own special 485 mm diameter discs because those available in the market do not have a sufficient curvature to perform the required work effectively.

What kind of work do we recommend for?

BUSA™ Kontrol K

The application area for medium-weight discs includes basic tillage, seedbed preparation for autumn-sown crops, stubble cultivation, spring soil preparation for corn, chemical incorporation, and seedbed preparation.

What kind of work do we recommend for?

BUSA™ Kontrol N

The use of heavy-weight disc harrows includes stubble stripping, incorporating a large quantity of plant residues, such as corn stalks, into the soil before plowing, plow tillage in compacted soils, and primary tillage without plowing.

Key features

Spring protection

The level controller of heavy-weight trailed disc harrows features a spring to prevent over-load.

What kind of work do we recommend for?

BUSA™ Kontrol IN

We manufacture super-heavy-weight disc harrows for special tasks and conditions. They are primarily used for primary tillage without plowing in compacted and very compacted soils, as well as in rice cultivation.

Key features

Self-closing valves

The hydraulic cylinders have self-closing check-valves, in this way the hydraulic cylinders can be secured without leaving the cabin.

Extra-strong joint-points

The joint points of the frame and wings are oversized, each can be greased and they have composite bushing for the heavy load.

Tandem undercarriage

Our super-heavy-weight disc harrows are equipped with tandem undercarriage. The machines stands on two axels and on four independent wheels, which reduces its load during transportation.

Discrete angle setting

The disc rows are held by short and strong screws, in order to avoid the loosening. The angle of the rows can be set in 3 positions both at the front and in the rear, the angle of the rows is 16-18-20 degree. The setting is assisted by spindles.

Hydraulic leveling

By tilting the disc the load of the front and rear rows can be adjusted, in this way the straight running of the machine can be adjusted simply from the cabin. This feature allows really shallow working depth.

Spring protection

In the case of super-heavy-weight disc harrows, the depth control system is equipped with overload-preventing springs.

BUSA™ TRAILED DISC HARROWS

Frequently asked questions

What working depth can I use?

The working depth is primarily influenced by weight, operating speed, and soil characteristics. Versions with greater weight and disc diameter are the heavy and super-heavy disc harrows, which are also used to replace plowing.

How can I preserve soil moisture?

A key requirement is the finishing of the soil surface that allows for soil moisture retention. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a disc harrow that comes with such an additional unit, although it should be noted that finishing can also be done separately. In this case, efficiency may decrease, and costs may increase.

How can I adjust the alignment of my Disc Harrow?

Straight running of the machinery can be adjusted easily and quickly with the level controller. Our heavy and super-heavy implements are equipped with a spring overload protection on the leveling system. Hydraulic leveling is available on our super-heavy implements.

Disc adjustment help

How can I set the working depth of my Disc Harrow?

Work depth can be set by adjusting the angle of the disc arms or by means of the wheels. Disc adjustment help

What kind of bearings can I request for my Disc Harrow?

Our Disc Harrows come equipped with IH system ST bearings as standard, and can also be optionally ordered with tapered roller bearings.

Does every BUSA™ Disc Harrow have spring protection on its level control system?

Only our heavy and super-heavy-weight implements have level control systems equipped with spring overload prevention.

What kind of discs are used on BUSA™ Disc Harrows?

Bellota Agrisolutions is one of the largest agricultural machinery component manufacturers, renowned worldwide for the quality of their discs, seeding coulters, plowshares, cultivator tines, and other soil cultivation tools. For this reason, we use Bellota-manufactured discs on our disc harrows for reliable quality, except for the 485 mm size, as the depth of discs available in the market, in this size proved insufficient for the required working quality. Therefore, we manufacture this size ourselves.

What kind of finishers can I request for my BUSA™ Disc Harrow? Can I request them later if needed?

A key requirement is the finishing of the soil surface that allows for soil moisture retention. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a disc harrow that comes with such an additional unit, although it should be noted that finishing can also be done separately. In this case, efficiency may decrease, and costs may increase. It is possible to attach finishers to BUSA™ Disc Harrows later.

To close the soil and maintain moisture, our implements can be equipped with spiral angle profile roller spiral angle profile roller, for seedbed preparation, you can choose slated roller or their mud-scraped version.

Is there a Disc Harrow suitable for use in orchards?

The light disc harrows can be adjusted to work in orchards and vineyards by moving them to the side.

Is it possible to spread granulated fertilizer in one pass with disc harrowing?

Our Disc Harrows can be equipped with systems for liquid dispensing, as well as granule and small seed dispensers.
